Collier County Animal League, Inc. (CCAL) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals by eliminating the unnecessary killing of animals due to overpopulation or lack of facilities and to treat animals in need of medical attention, training or rehabilitation.

CCAL's mission is to end the unnecessary killing of animals in Collier County by applying the broadest definition of "adoptable" to include healthy animals, animals in need of medical attention, and special-needs animals.

Therefore, the no-kill movement asks organizations to stop killing animals with treatable illnesses or injuries, special needs, those that are above or below a certain age, those that have been in the shelter too long, or to make addional space for incoming animals.

It does not ask, nor expect, animals deemed "dangerous" or seriously ill to be adopted to the public, nor ask shelters to "warehouse" animals.
